Hello all,
One of my favorite inductions for many of the so called "resistant" types is to use a hyperemperic induction.. Don Gibbons was one of the first to talk about this type of induction into trance. Most inductions of hypnosis are talking towards what you call "sleep", however in a hyperemperic technique you talk toward "heightened awareness". Kind of makes sense now when you think about when you tell your client their senses will be acutely aware of everything going on while they are hypnotized (pre talk). Hyperemperia is simply a different path leading into trance. It always helps to discover during the pre talk, if the client has any particular dislikes (elevators, flying, heights, etc.), as this will avoid unpleasantness during the induction phase. The induction phase is a period of time where you (the operator) provides a plausible belief or conviction on the mind of the client that subsequent suggestions are in fact credible. This is done easily via a standard hypnotic induction and just as easily with hyperemperic inductions. The caveat is: not everyone is induced using the same induction! Plan your work well during the pre talk and discover the clues from your client that will direct you to the appropriate induction. I have had much fun in my practice using hyperemperic inductions, and it is my FAVORITE method of self hypnosis!

Hi Ed,
Thanks so much for always sharing about yourself and your practice, I always look forward to your input.
I was wondering if the hyperemperic induction is similar to what Gerald Kein teaches as Ultra- height hypnosis? I have been thinking of purchasing some of his material and would like to hear from anyone who has personal knowledge and could give me advice on the following tapes (i can only purchase a few at this time and so i am comparing):
1.Instant and rapid inductions in a professional place or Selecting the proper induction for the client.
2.The Hypnotic Coma State or Hypno Sleep
Also any info on the Ultra Height Hypnosis would be appreciated.
If it is more appropriate I can be contacted at: awakenings@charter.net
Thankyou.

Hi Nelson,
The hyperemperic induction is not similar to the Ultra-Height technique. Gerry teaches that the individual should be induced preferably with an Elman induction to somnambulism, then suggestion to allow the mind to go higher as the body remains deeper. He has a great video, and I have many of them. I recommend that if you are interested ion the Ultra-Height technique, you should contact Omni Hypnosis, and seek out Mr. Kein for the very latest. I have used Ultra-Height technique in the past and find it amazing, and sometimes frustrating. This I believe is probably from not using it enough. As Gerry says it really is the "cutting edge" , and more work using this technique needs to be done by practitioners, I concur.
The Coma state and Hypno-sleep are stages of hypnosis that are amazing and very helpful in certain circumstances. I had the pleasure of having been placed in the Coma state a few years ago by Gerry when he was presenting this topic at the convention. I can tell you from personal experience that it was unlike anything I had experienced before!! I have used the coma state several times in my anesthesia practice as well, and I can tell you that those I am working with are dumbfounded with the result. One Oral surgeon replied afterward, "I don't know how you do some of the things you do, but I sure am glad you can".

I do not believe these two are the same. There has been post before regarding Ultra-height you can locate them quickly by using the search feature on this site. Just type in “ultra height” and see what info is available

Thank you Ed and William for responding to my post, I appreciate your information. I will search out the other info on Ultra Height. If any one else has any input I would appreciate it.
Namaste.

Hello All,
Let me say that using the hyperemperic induction as a self trance inducer is a fun experience as well. Once you learn the proper techniques of wording your "story", it is exciting to try it on yourself! You will find that you are not sleepy or tired in any way, and in fact, may as your clients sometimes say "I wasn't in hypnosis". If you utilize a good biofeedback device to monitor relaxation, you can use that data to determine your level of trance. If you do not use these or perhaps are of the impression that they "tell you nothing", simply use LeCron's pendulum technique when you are finished your session, and "ask" the subconcious how deep you were on a scale of 0-36. Zero being fully alert, and thirty six being "In Cleveland" as Gerry Kein might say. You will be surprised at what it tells you, and how deep you went". Besides the new experience for self trance, you will be practicing your wording techniques to use them efficiently with client's in your office. Enjoy!
