Background
Throughout my life I have been aware that how a person thinks influences how the person feels. I had been influenced by books like “The Power of Positive Thinking”. In college I majored in Psychology as part of my preparation for the ministry. In seminary (graduate school for ministry prep) I took the best available training for helping marriages, families and individuals spiritually and psychologically. Always fascinated by relationships, I learned about the DISC model of behavioral communication. That became a great tool for helping with family, church and work relationships. As I worked with congregants I discovered that many had been badly abused as children and that the abuse made it hard for them to find happiness and success as adults. I found out that helping people go back in time in their lives and look at what happened in childhood, and even meeting their “inner child” was very helpful. When I learned that this was a hypnotic technique I wanted to learn more about hypnosis. I discovered that the NGH (National Guild of Hypnotists) was the largest and most respected hypnosis education and certifying organization in the world. My passion for helping people stop smoking came about as a result of the deaths of 5 separate immediate family members due to smoking. In 2005 my brother Ray, a world renowned motivational speaker and author died after minor surgery to correct a hernia. A blood clot went from his surgery site to his tobacco weakened lungs and he lost his life. In the same year, my foster-sister, Lorraine succumbed to lung cancer due to smoking, as had my father in 1973. In 2000 my brother Bill died of congestive heart failure due to smoking. The same for my mother who had passed away from congestive heart failure due to smoking in 1990. The first to die far too young was my 52 year old father who died in 1973 from the combination of emphysema and cancer of the lung. That is why I work so hard to help every smoking client to succeed in eliminating cigarettes from their lives. Overcoming infertility may be one of the best uses of hypnosis. That is why I have added HypnoFertility (Fertility by Hypnosis) Specialist to my specialty trainings and certifications. Watson Wellness Center was the NGH Certified Training Center I chose become a certified hypnotherapist (now called consulting hypnotists). I have taken a wide variety of advanced training courses leading to a variety of certifications. Part of the reason for taking so many certifications was to have the opportunity to learn from the very best hypnotists in the world. My certifications are listed below. In my ministry and in knowing families I found that one of the most painful experiences a couple can deal with is infertility. I discovered that hypnosis is the most likely of all Assistive Reproduction Techniques to successfully help couples conceive. This may be one of the best uses of hypnosis. Helping people achieve at the level of their dreams is the driving motivation for Lee’s work in hypnosis. An Ordained Clergyman, for most of the last 20 years he has served congregations in rural upstate NY where he presently resides. He found that hypnotic techniques were indirectly used in his pastoral counseling, and chose to learn hypnosis formally in 2002-2003. As an instructor, Lee particularly enjoys introducing introduce other clergy to hypnosis as a tool in their pastoral ministries. He also introduces medical professionals to hypnosis as an added tool to their toolboxes.
