Post Question about Sound Systems

I was wondering if any of you have a preference when it comes to portable sound systems that you might use when you do workshop or talks to larger groups.

I am just now getting started in presenting these kinds of things and I find because I naturally have a rather quiet voice that sometimes it's hard for people to hear me and they don't always have a sound system that I can use. I know there are portable ones out there that are hands free so I wanted to see if any of you use them and if so would you recommend any certain ones.

The cheaper in price but with good sound quality of course would be what I would be looking for and of course something portable.

Thank you in advance

Bonnie,

I know nothing about the type of sound system you need. But, for recording I do, I have learned to trust the user reviews and comments on the http://www.musiciansfriend.com site.

I use http://www.musiciansfriend.com a lot too, as a speaker, recorder of hypnosis CDs http://www.tomnicoli.com and as a professional musician http://www.2much2.com

Bonnie - you may want to look into very reasonable costing small PA systems for you don't need much power or technical capabilities for what you seek. You'd be surprised what you can get for a couple hundred dollars.

Bonnie-

I have the Fender Passport 250 system. It is self contained, comes with 2 microphones and inputs for mp3 players, cd players, other mics, etc.
It's pretty powerful & costs about $600.

I hope this helps.
